UPDATED: Two dead after helicopter crashes in Yorkshire Dales

Two people have died after a helicopter crashed in a field in North Yorkshire.

Emergency services were called to Bentham Road near Burton in Lonsdale - on the border with Lancashire.

It happened just before midday.

North Yorkshire Police say the A65 road near the crash site is closed - are people are being asked to avoid the area.

The families of the two people who were killed are being supported by specially trained officers.

Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance, have been at the scene.
