We're being warned about snow and ice across Harrogate and the Dales this morning (Tuesday, 2 February).

The Met Office upgraded its warning for heavy snow to AMBER - that's in place until 1pm.

A yellow weather warning is also in force for more snow and ice until midnight.

It means there could be travel disruption on the roads and railways - with power cuts, and other services also affected.

A handful of schools have also decided to close. Find out which ones here.

We're told gritters are out on the major routes across the district.

Roads across large parts of North Yorkshire are under snow - with essential travel only being recommended.

Across in West Yorkshire this was the scene on the M62:

North Yorkshire Police has issued a warning to drivers attempting to head out in their cars in this wintry weather:

Many schools across Harrogate and the Dales have decided to close.

How will the snow affect coronavirus vaccination appointments?

The wintry weather has meant today's coronavirus vaccinations at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate and Ripon Racecourse have been postponed.

Health bosses say it only applies to those who're booked in between 8am and 12.45pm.

We're told scheduled jabs for this afternoon are still going ahead as planned.
