Calvin Miller and Jake Lawlor both netted their first goals in a Town shirt, while Mark Beck and Aaron Martin both also got on the scoresheet.
Town got the match off to a great start with a goal in the opening minute, followed by another just before half time, going into the break 2 nil up.
Two further goals in the early stages of the second half made it 4 nil, with Skelmersdale leaving it until the 89th minute to score their only goal of the match to give a final score of 4-1.
