Some patients attending the Emergency Department at Harrogate Hospital may face delays, after the district's NHS Trust warned it's "very busy".

Harrogate and District Foundation NHS Trust have released a statement, and said whilst delays aren't "ideal" they will try to keep waiting times "as short as possible".

Patients who aren't suffering from serious injuries or illnesses are being asked to ring 111 first, to try to keep waiting times down.

The statement adds "your health is our utmost priority" and asks that staff are treated respectfully and "do not have to face verbal or physical abuse".
