Harrogate campaigner says new weight loss jab is a "game changer"

A Harrogate woman says a new weight loss jab is going to be a "game changer" for people like her.
There is already a huge waiting list for Wegovy which was made available earlier this week..
Sarah Le Brocq is from Harrogate has struggled with her weight for most of her life.
She set up "All About Obesity" to campaign for better understanding and awareness: "I'm really excited to try and get my hands on it, from seeing the results in the US because they've had it for a while now, seeing people who've got it privately, it really has made such a difference so I'm really excited about having the opportunity to give it a go."
"Finally we can start getting access to this drug through the NHS for people who genuinely need it, because it is going to be a game changer for people living with obesity, it's really going to offer people the opportunity to lose weight in a healthy and successful way.
"people say it's eat less move more, but we know that it's not that simple, it's very much of a case of physiologically there is something different going on in the body of someone who is living with obesity compared to someone who is not."
The NHS rollout of the drug will be limited to people needing medical help to lose weight.
Only patients with a BMI over 30, or more than 27 with one weight-related comorbidity, will be able to access the drug.
The National Institute for Care and Excellence (Nice) gave Wegovy the green light for NHS use earlier this year. Its guidance said it should be used for a maximum of two years.
About 50,000 NHS patients in England could be prescribed Wegovy, an NHS spokesperson said.
