North Yorkshire's emergency services are urging us to not drink at all, if we're planning on driving today.

They are gearing up for one of the busiest nights of the year as people celebrate the start of 2023.

Tony Peel is from the Fire Service and says if you are getting behind the wheel, it's best to avoid alcohol altogether: "One of the reasons is that if you are doing your measurements at home, you don't know how much you are drinking. It's better to have none whatsoever because then you know you are definitely clear."

The warning comes as the force revealed they have made more than 100 arrest for drink driving this month (December). As part of their Christmas campaign the force had extra marked and unmarked police cars on patrol.
