12 more electric charging points to be installed across Craven
It's part of the Council’s strategy to encourage electric vehicle use and get the district to be carbon neutral
More electric charging points are being installed across Craven thanks to more funding.
Craven District Council has been successful in its latest grant application to The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and has been awarded £146,736.82.
The Council has topped it up by a further £48,912.21 to make the project of installing 12 more fast charging points possible.
The Council applied to the OZEV for 75% of funding costs to supply three Electric Vehicle Fast Charge Points (EVCP) in four village car parks.
The new charging points are planned at the following locations:
North Street Car Park, Gargrave,
Milligans Field Car Park, Crosshills,
Grasmere Drive Car Park, Bentham
The Community Centre Car Park at Ingleton.
The installations should be completed in March 2022.
The proposed charging points are part of the Council’s strategy to encourage electric vehicle use as part of its plans to be carbon neutral.
The Council already has charging points at the High Street car park in Skipton town centre and the installation of three points at Ashfield car park in Settle is underway.
It is hoped to eventually have electric vehicle charging points in all council car parks by the end of 2022.
