Banned driver leads police on 140mph chase immediately after leaving court
He apparently fled down the A1(M) and the A59 on Monday
A driver who was banned for drug offences has been rearrested after leading police on an 140mph chase through North Yorkshire immediately after leaving court.
A North Yorkshire Police sergeant claimed he "got in the car to drive home" just moments after he was disqualified.
Paul Cording said the driver then failed to stop for police and led them on a chase along the A59 and the A1(M), reaching speeds of over 140mph.
Police used a "stinger" to stop the car and a man was arrested.
