Covid-19 vaccinations which were due to be given to the public at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate tomorrow have been rescheduled due to the bad weather.

All Saturday appointments have been moved by North Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to prevent people venturing out into the harsh conditions.

Instead, all appointments have been moved to the same time on Sunday, still at the Showground, to try and avoid the freezing conditions and snow.

In a statement, the CCG said: "Due to adverse weather conditions, the Covid vaccination clinic due to be held at the Yorkshire Event Centre at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate tomorrow (Saturday) is being rescheduled.

"The majority of people who'd been invited to have their Covid jab tomorrow are elderly and many will be frail.

"GP practices in the Harrogate District are in the process of contacting all affected patients directly."

More snow is forecast for across Harrogate into the early hours of tomorrow morning.
