A charity football match is being held in memory of a Harrogate man who passed away after battle with a rare cancer.
Jack Newton was 23 when he passed away in January of this year, after being diagnosed in late 2021.
Today (10 April), Jack's friends are hosting a charity football match at Harrogate Railway Football Club, where he used to play as a young boy.
All money raised in his name for Teenage Cancer Trust, which offers unique care and support to young people receiving cancer treatment.
His friend, Bailey Mac, put together the event. The pair met when they were 12-years-old playing at Harrogate Railway.
He said:
"Although Jack isn't here anymore, he's actually brought so many people together. He was 23 years old, this doesn't happen every day. I think a lot of people have seen that and they want to come down and show support to his family.
"It was a nice touch from my perspective to host the game there because that's where we met at Harrogate Railway so it was only right to go back there. I made a promise to make him proud and that's all I've had on my mind every day.
"He was always the first one to support his friends. He loved his family, he loved Leeds United. He was always the life and soul of the party and wanted to bring the energy to the room. He was an all-round nice guy and a really special guy."
Organisers have already raised thousands in Jack's memory, and his family raised over ÂŁ30,000 earlier this year completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
