Emergency responders in North Yorkshire are reminding people not to film anyone in distress.

The warning comes after police took action against drivers capturing a fatal collision on the A1M.

Last year - crowds were also criticised for reportedly videoing someone who had fallen into the River Ouse - rather than throwing in the life ring.

David Wilson from York Rescue Boat says;

"Be it someone involved in an accident on the road, the river, someone distressed just generally, the last thing that person needs is video or images of them being shared on social media.

"You never know the circumstances of why someone has gone into the water.

"Filming them just does not help."
