Author: Natasha Palmer

The stage is set for events, exhibitions and conferences to light up Harrogate Convention Centre.

There’ll be a standing ovation for the 150,000 business visitors who visit our spa town - in a normal year - with a loud round of applause from our hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, ready to welcome our Convention Centre customers back.

Yes, Harrogate is ready to be the home of events once more!

Once restrictions allow, come and be part of the buzz. Here are few highlights ahead…

Experience living legends Billy Ocean on 24 September and Michael Bolton, on 25 September. We also welcome back the electrifying Paloma Faith with her Infinite Things tour on 3 October. ‘The Voice’ Russell Watson features on 2 November, with Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra on 6 November, and on the run-up to Christmas, get into the festive spirit with Il Divo plus Special Guests.

For Comedy Lovers:

Jimmy Carr is always a sell-out. If you’re lucky enough to get a ticket on 23 September, brace yourselves for his trademark uproarious take on life with his Terribly Funny 2021 show. On 5 October, the hilarious Tim Vine gives his unique tribute to the King, with Tim Vine is Plastic Elvis. And Katherine Ryan brings her new show Missus to Harrogate on 14 October.

For Explorers:

With a year of little or no travel, broaden your horizons once more on 4 September with the Banff Mountain Film Festival 2021.

Join author and photo-journalist Levison Wood for The Art of Exploration on 27 September. In October, two of the most-loved TV wildlife presenters, Martin Hughes-Hames and Iolo Williams, bring a family-friendly Wildlife Roadshow.

For Culture Vultures:

The 27th International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival returns to Harrogate with all the colour, fun and spectacle of Britain’s greatest comedy opera writers. It takes place at the Royal Hall 8-18 August.

Royal Hall Open Day, 7 July/ 27 July/ 21 August/ 22 August

The Royal Hall Open Days are a chance to re-connect with your inner thesp, and admire the Edwardian beauty of Harrogate’s ‘glittering palace’. It has entertained royalty, the rich and the famous over the years, and was restored to its full glory with a £10.8m restoration project in 2008.

If you’re a local retailer, don’t miss:
