Plans have been approved for a new Watersports Centre in Cleethorpes.

It'll be built on the site of the former Savoy amusement arcade.

However this is a Watersports centre with a difference.

This one is portable, or at least it can be moved at fairly short notice.

The building has been designed so it can be dismantled and erected on a new site as a precaution due to concerns about rising sea levels.

It'll have three storeys and will include a shop, cafe and restaurant.

It'll offer watersports such as paddle boarding and kayaking.

The design is unusual in that it's built from shipping containers with a glass front which will look out onto the seafront.

"Ebb and Flow" are behind the venture and owners Toni and Vince Weavers believe the improved provision for watersports will provide a significant boost for tourism.

It would also help to boost visitors to the North Prom after many people suggested there needed to be more attractions to that part of the resort.

It's now hoped other firms will look to locate to the area too.
