North East Lincolnshire Health bosses are urging us to 'carry on' throughout the festive season and new year but get the booster jab.

Geoff Barnes claims the virus is going to become more of a 'seasonal infection' in 2022.

The public health director for North East Lincolnshire council, said:

“Our expectation is that over the course of 2022 things will get better and better we expect that COVID will become much more the seasonal type of infection during the year and maybe we'll need another booster come next winter.

Geoff has got this advice for moving into 2022.

“It can be very difficult to Christmas time to follow these precautions but the same principles that have that have served as well over these last nearly two years: avoiding crowded environments, socially distancing with strangers and please if you can get the booster vaccination because that is making a massive difference.”
