There are calls for more to be done to help the hundreds of unpaid carers across the region many of whom are said to be suffering "unprecedented financial hardship".

Those who care for a family member or close friends says the cost of living crisis is having a huge impact.

Carers UK says it's adding to stress levels of those carers.

We spoke to Marie from North East Lincolnshire who cares for her father.

She said: "The cost of energy and how it's going to impact everyone including as we head into winter, it's going to be really hard for people to weigh up the pros and cons of anything at the moment."

"My father, he actually lives around 15 miles from where I live so I now have to think about how I'm going to get there in an emergency as well."

"I have to consider all of that before I can find food."

"I am preparing for the next couple of months regarding the fuel crisis and the energy crisis."

"I actually bought three torches at the weekend to prepare for the cost because I just don't know how this will impact our home."
