Officers are investigating a serious assault in Scunthorpe.
A 17 year old boy was found with stab wounds to his leg.
It's reported that at six o'clock yesterday evening an altercation took place on Healey Road between a group of males.
The 17 year old boy with injuries to his thigh was found on St Lawrence Place, and was taken to hospital for treatment - his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police say they believe the individuals were known to each other, adding that there'll be an increased police presence in the area whilst they try to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Inspector Steve Antrobus said:
“I understand an incident of this nature will be concerning for the local community; however, I want to offer my reassurance that we believe this to be an incident between individuals known to each other.
“A scene guard was initially put in place while officers carried out lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances, but it has since been removed.
“Enquiries continue to identify those involved, and locals to the area can expect to see an increased police presence, providing additional reassurance to residents while our investigation continues.
“I would encourage anyone with any information, concerns, or CCTV footage from around the time the incident occurred to please come and speak to us."
