Teenage boy charged with attempted murder after a 13 year old girl stabbed in East Yorkshire

A 14-year-old boy's to appear in court tomorrow, charged with attempted murder - after a schoolgirl was found stabbed at the side of a road near Hull.

She's said to be in a critical but stable condition.

Officers found the 13 year old girl, at the side of the road on the A63 in Hessle just before 7am on Friday morning.

She had stab wounds to her neck, abdomen, chest and back and she remains in hospital recovering.

5 other teenagers - aged between 14 and 17 - who were arrested in connection with the incident - have been released on bail.

The teenage boy - who cannot be named for legal reasons has been remanded into custody.

Police say:

"We were called to reports of concern for safety after a girl appeared injured at the side of the road on the A63 in Hessle.

"An area search was conducted and six teenagers were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in a wooded area nearby in connection with the incident.

"Three teenage boys aged 15, 16 and 17-years-old, and two girls, 14 and 15-years-old have since been released from custody on police bail."
