The rate of Covid-19 is now more than 30 times higher than it was in September in North East Lincolnshire.

But health bosses say they're confident that if people do stick to the rules, things will be better by the Spring.

Geoff Barnes the Deputy Director of Public Health, says the vaccination programme is going well in the area:

"We need to note this is going to be the biggest vaccination programme ever delivered in the country, and it will inevitably take time. Staff are being recruited to support the rollout and we're looking into the possibility of opening a mass vaccination centre in the borough to ensure that happens"

He continues:

"Since Christmas we've begun to see our local rate escalate once again which is a worrying sign. Unfortunately if we follow the pattern that's been experienced in many parts of the country in recent weeks it wont take long at all until we're back to November levels again or even higher"
