Locals in North East Lincolnshire can give their views on a proposed new housing development in Grimsby.
58 homes and a 90 bed extra care facility are planned on part of the playing field that use to be part of the former Matthew Humberston school
The public consultation is on the Council's website and you can have your say on the plans and the layout- as well as asking Councillors behind the project questions.
The former school is now Bursar Primary Academy following a full refurbishment in 2018, and a large portion of the field is no longer needed.
North East Lincolnshire Council are now seeking views from people in our area about plans for 58-homes and a 90-bed extra care facility on the plot of land.
The public consultation, which can be viewed on the Council’s website, gives people the opportunity to have their say on the proposed layout of the site as well as an opportunity to speak to Council officers behind the project.
Proposals for the site include a mix of properties including two and three bedroom properties, which will provide affordable, retirement and market housing. In addition the site will provide an extra care facility.
Each property will be designed with quality housing, gardens and parking. Benefiting from tree lined streets, the planned design includes sustainable drainage and pond, which will provide a wildlife area for residents.
Speaking about the consultation, Councillor Callum Procter, portfolio holder for economic growth, housing and tourism at North East Lincolnshire Council, said:
Over the coming years, North East Lincolnshire’s population will grow and with that comes a need for more housing.
“To meet this need, we are doing a lot of work to bring empty homes back into use, as well as looking at disused & brownfield sites where we can develop proposals.
“In this case, this disused site was earmarked for development in the local plan, and we’re now inviting members of the public to have a say in what that development could look like.
