Humberside Police have told us they're upping patrols in hotspot areas over the weekend and summer as lockdown restrictions ease and won't hesitate to use enforcement action if they need to.

Chief Superintendent Darren Downs, Humberside Police, said:

“There will be extra resources available for us for this weekend in case there are any increase demand. We will have officers and staff out and about all weekend, if you want to come and tell us anything please do.”

The force says so far this week most of us have been sticking to the rules and they want that to continue.

Darren added:

“The majority of the public are still following the guidelines and people want to stay out of lockdown so I think so people are being more sensible.

“Stick to the guidelines, keep 2m apart and be respectful to others because it will be busy I’m sure.

“If there are breaches of the regulations then we will deal with them to make sure the public are safe but that will be our last resort. Our aim is to be as visible as possible and engage with our communities.”
