Man charged following Cleethorpes incident

Officers were deployed to an incident on North Prom in Cleethorpes after receiving a call of concern for safety in the early hours of Tuesday, 22 July.

The call was received at around 12.10am from a member of the public, stating a man had threatened to stab him and the same man had been aggressive towards a woman in a bar and was now believed to be following them.

Two officers attended the incident at around 12.25am, and spoke with a man and a woman who reported they had been assaulted.

A man was pointed out who was believed to be connected to the incident and officers then attempted to speak to him.

A man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged after officers were bitten, punched and spat at whilst attempting to make an arrest.

Kyle Ringelholtz, 19-years-old of Barrow Road, New Holland, was charged on Tuesday, 22 July, with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and appeared at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court where he has been unconditionally bailed pending his next court appearance.
