A 52-year-old man is being questioned by detectives on suspicion of attempted murder, in connection with reports of a stabbing in Scunthorpe.
Emergency services were called to Allanby Street in Scunthorpe at around 6.30 pm on Monday (03/03) to reports that a man in his 60s had injuries to his chest and stomach.
Humberside Police say it's reported that a verbal altercation took place between two men inside the property, before a 66-year-old suffered injuries.
His condition is not thought to be life-threatening at this time.
Detective Inspector Jayne Coutts said: “I understand an incident of this nature will cause concern amongst the local community, and whilst we are in the early stages of our investigation, at this time we do believe the two men to be known to each other.
“I can confirm a 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, and two weapons, believed to be knives, have also been recovered from inside the address.
“A scene guard was in place at the time to allow officers and Crime Scene Investigation to conduct their enquiries, and whilst it has since been lifted, local residents can expect to see an increase in police presence around the area.
