Hull Fair back for 2022: Everything you need to know
Europe's largest travelling fair has arrived in the city for 728th time

At 5 o clock on the 7th October, Hull Fair will be opened in the city for the 728th time.
More than 250 rides, including some new ones for 2022 and an array of attractions will be on offer at Walton Street's fairground.
Europe's largest travelling fair will run until Saturday 15th October, and will be open every day (with the exception of Sunday 9th October).
The Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull will officially open the Fair, by ringing the bell on showman Gilbert Chadwick's Funhouse in a ceremony.
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Christine Randall says "After over 700 years the people of Hull have the fair as a permanent fixture in their event calendar."

When is it open?
With the exception of Sunday 9th October, the fair will be open every day.
It'll be opened at 5pm this afternoon (7th October) and will run until 11 pm on Saturday 15th October.
Friday 7th October: 5pm until 11pm
Saturday 8th October: 12 noon until 11 pm.
Sunday 9th October: CLOSED
Monday 10th to Friday 14th October: 2 pm until 11 pm
Saturday 15th October: 12 noon until 11pm
Humberside Police's Chief Superintendent Christine Wilson says "We will be present at the fair every day and night to make sure that both visitors and workers feel safe throughout the week.".
"I want to make it clear that those who came and commit crime or antisocial behaviour will be dealt with robustly by my teams"
Which roads will be closed?
Until Saturday 15th October
Granville Street and Sandringham Street closed only when needed in exceptional circumstances until 11 pm on 15/10
Until Sunday 16th October
Spring Bank West restriction in place until 6pm on 16/10
Walton Street closed until 6 pm on 16/10
Lowther Street from junction of Littlebeck Close up to Walton Street closed until 6pm on 16/10
Walliker Street from Anlaby Road junction closed until 6 pm on 16/10
For Hull City vs Birmingham at the MKM Stadium on 16th October - 3 pm kick off No public parking on Walton Street Fairground for home or away supporters
What rides and attractions will there be?
Alongside new food stalls this year, three new rides will also be on offer including a four-floor police station funhouse, a rocket, and new to UK, a family wheel.
For youngsters, there's 80 rides including trampolines, fun houses, helter skelters and mini versions of the teenage rides such as mini Miami, mini waltzer and jumping jack.
For those who like to keep their feet firmly on the ground there are in excess of 100 stalls offering games such as bingo, hook-a-duck and darts as well as an array of food outlets bringing food from around the world.
