January and February are set to be the toughest months of the year for a Grimsby Foodbank which is running low on stock.

Rock Foundation says it risks running out of food altogether as they struggle to meet growing demand post-Christmas.

Its reserves were already low before the busy festive period.

Their experiences reflect those of many other foodbanks in the region who are also struggling.

More and more people are finding it difficult

We spoke to Pam Hodge who's Chief Executive of the Rock Foundation in Grimsby and told us about the current situation.

She told us: "We're not getting what we used from the supermarkets because - as we've all seen - there isn't as much on the shelves as they're used to be."

"More and more people are finding it difficult - more and more people are going for food and buying it themselves - so we are not getting so much."

" We want to be able to provide for these people - we do try and keep a bit of a stock behind if we can so we don't go out completely."

"That is something that does concern us - January and February."

There's an awful lot of lonely people

"It's a whole range of people and it's just very very sad - very sad that people are needing a foodbank in this day and age."

"Our numbers are going up to 700 at the moment."

"We've got an awful lot of lonely people coming to foodbank."

"I had one lady who'd been sleeping in her car for three years. although she does have accommodation now."

"People are just wanting that warm space and someone to talk to because at the end of the day sometimes we're probably the only people that speak to them for the whole week"
