Plea for care homes for people with learning difficulties across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire to be treated differently
It comes as rules for care homes today change

Covid rules have changed to allow people living in care homes to have unlimited visits from friends and family.
But individual homes can set their own visiting policies.
We spoke to Paul De Savary who runs a care home in Stallingborough near Grimsby.
He told us "the individuals we support just don't get it, they cannot understand why Governments do this".
"All of them are discriminated against them, they don't get it."
"This is not good for people with a learning disability, they have been ignored and they're being ignored. "
"They're being treated as they were an elder person, these are people of all sorts of ages and function in the same way as we do, they like to be part of the community".
"Just because they have a learning disability they are being excluded from the community despite them being double and triple jabbed."
"Government needs to recognise there is greater risk if you keep people who are very active stuck in a home".
"We would like to see learning disability homes unlocked and treated as part of the community which is exactly what they area."
