People across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire are being urged to help if and where they can to support Afghan refugees resettling in the UK.

So far we know that North East Lincolnshire Council is supporting four families fleeing the country who've worked with British forces.

Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers is supportive of the move.

He told us " I think in the whole the vast majority of people realise for humanitarian reasons it's a small price to pay in the tragic scenes being played on on their TV screens."

There have been some concerns over housing.

Mr Vickers says "yes there is a minimal impact but it is only minimal".

An appeal has now begun for things clothing and furniture.
