A total of 15 people arrested over firearms incident in Grimsby

Police believe it was an isolated incident

15 people in total have been arrested in connection with a reported firearms incident in Grimsby earlier this month.

Officers were called to Sutcliffe avenue on Wednesday 6th July after a reported incident where two people were taken to hospital for non life threatening injuries.

13 of the people arrested have been released on bail with strict conditions while enquiries continue and two people have been released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicole Elliott, leading the investigation, said:

“Since this incident was reported we have carried out extensive enquiries and these are continuing.

“We will not tolerate incidents of this nature and remain resolute in doing all that we can to bring those responsible to justice and keep our communities safe. I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who believes they have knowledge of those involved in this incident.

“As part of our enquiries, a total of 15 people have been arrested and interviewed and numerous different lines of enquiry have been explored.

“I completely appreciate the impact that reports of this nature can have on a community, and I encourage anyone with any concerns or information that they feel may help us to please get in touch.

“Please be reassured that we continue to believe that this was an isolated and targeted incident with no wider risk to the public.
