Yellow weather warning in place across Gloucestershire
A rare red warning for wind, which warns of a "danger to life", has been issued by the Met Office in parts of the South West.
It will come into force on Saturday.
In Gloucestershire a yellow wind warning is set to be present from 3pm today.
The Met Office has upgraded it's initial weather warning for wind for the west coast from amber to red, it is in place from 3am on Saturday until 11am on Sunday.
In Gloucestershire the warning says:
"There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs
It is likely that some roads and bridges could close, with impacts from falling trees
There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
There is a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties
There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris
There is likely to be longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected."
