Woman in court charged with manslaughter of care home resident

A Gloucester woman's appeared in court charged with manslaughter following the death of a care home resident.

Jane Barnard, 65, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court today, accused of killing and neglecting Derek Davies, 75.

Gloucestershire Police have previously confirmed Ms Barnard was a care worker at Wheatridge Court in Abbeydale, Gloucester, where Mr Davies was a resident.

He died on 8 September 2021.

Ms Barnard is due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on 17 October.
