A woman has appeared in court charged with allegedly robbing a man of his mobility scooter in Stroud.

Kimberley Ann Hawkins, 40, appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court today (Thursday 26 January).

Police were called to a Tesco car park on Stratford Road at around 6am on Sunday (22 February) after Neil Shadwick was found unresponsive.

It is alleged that the 63-year-old was robbed of his mobility scooter.

Mr Shadwick died later that day in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Hawkins, of no fixed address, has been charged with robbery and has appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates court.

She's been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on 16 February.

On Wednesday evening (25 January), Gloucestershire police said a post-mortem examination had returned inconclusive results.

An investigation into Mr Shadwick's death is ongoing.
