Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on Worcester Street in Gloucester on Saturday evening (15 November).

Officers were called at around 9.10pm following reports that a man had been attacked in the street.

The victim sustained injuries to his face and arm after being punched and assaulted in the road.

It is believed the suspect left the scene by getting into a red car, which then drove away before police arrived.

A 20-year-old man from Gloucester was later arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police believe several people were in the area at the time, including passing motorists, who may have seen the assault take place.

Investigating officers are urging anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV, or direct witness accounts to come forward if they have not yet spoken to police.
