Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious crash on the A40 near Sherborne on Friday night.

Five people were taken to hospital following the collision between Northleach and Burford just before 9.30pm.

Three cars were involved; a Volvo V90 estate towing a trailer, a black BMW 1 Series three-door hatchback and a blue Skodo Soala.

One of the vehicles left the road and hit a wall while another also left the carriageway.

Two men in their 30s were taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and three men were taken to the John Radcliff Hospital in Oxford where one aged in his 50s remains in a critical condition. A man in his 30s has been discharged while a man in his 20s remains in hospital.
