Vigil held in Cheltenham against gender-based violence
A vigil is being held today (10/12) to mark the end of the 16 days of action.
It comes as part of White Ribbon's international campaign.
The organisation asks men to recognise their role in working towards the future without violence against women.
To mark the final day of the 16 Days of Action campaign, Cheltenham Borough Council will be holding a peaceful vigil at the front of the Municipal Offices.
Dr Louise Livesy, Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Gloucester will be speaking at the vigil.
She said: "The vigil will give us a chance to pause and reflect at the end of the 16 days and think about what we want to do in the future.
"I think the long term goal is of eliminating violence against women and girls and making it so socially unacceptable."
"The vigil is themed around solidarity, and solidarity with survivor's is really important."
