Two men arrested after serious crash on the A38 in Gloucester
Four vehicles were involved in the incident which happened at about 8:30pm last night (July 27)
Two men have been arrested in connection with a four-vehicle crash yesterday evening in Gloucester (27 July).
Emergency services were called to reports of a serious collision on the A38 Eastern Avenue in Gloucester at around 20:30 - with one of the drivers taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The incident involved a black Audi A5, BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, Ford Fiesta Zetec and an Audi A6.
The road was closed while emergency services were at the scene and it reopened overnight.
A 23 and a 27 year old man remain in police custody on suspicion of a number of offences including on suspicion of dangerous driving - and driving under the influence of drink or drugs.
The 23-year-old from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving without insurance, racing on a public highway and driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The 27-year-old from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, racing on a public highway and driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer after it was alleged he punched and spat at an officer.
They both remain in police custody.
A dog had also bolted from one of the cars involved and was soon found nearby, and is safe and well.
