Trains back ON between Swindon and Gloucester after fatality on tracks

Train services between Swindon and Gloucester stations are running normally again, following a fatality on the tracks this morning.

Police were called to the scene, just after 9am, after a person was hit by a train near Swindon.

Paramedics also attended, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident caused train disruption between Swindon and Gloucester for several hours, including passengers heading to Cheltenham Festival.

The British Transport Police said: "This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner".
