The Fire Service has confirmed the blaze is under control
Fire crews were called out to a blaze in Gloucester late yesterday night.
We're told thousands of tonnes of rubbish caught alight - with the fire now under control.
In a statement sent to us this morning, a spokesperson from the fire service said: "We were called at 9.57pm to reports of a fire at a field behind Over Farm.
"Thousands of tonnes of household rubbish were on fire in an area measuring 30m x 20m.
"Four fire engines were sent to the scene throughout the night, from Gloucester North, Gloucester South, Cheltenham East and Cheltenham West.
"Residents living within the area were advised to keep windows and doors closed during the incident.
"The fire is now under control. A fire officer is remaining on site but all fire engines have now left the scene."
