The fire service, police and ambulance crews were called out to a serious blaze in Yate in the early hours of this morning.

At just before 8am, Avon Fire and Rescue Service Tweeted, encouraging residents to 'stay away' from the area, following the incident which we're told started at 6.27am following reports of a blaze on Moordell Close in Yate.

At just after 9am, the fire was confirmed by the fire service to have been extinguished, but we now know three people have been treated by paramedics following the incident.

The scene on Moordell Road

In a statement, Avon Fire and Rescue said: "At 6:27am on 7 July we were called to reports of a residential fire on Moordell Close in Yate.

"Crews from Yate, Kingswood, Temple, Southmead, and Bedminster were in attendance. 14 firefighters wore breathing apparatus, crews used two jets and three high pressure to extinguish the fire. A turntable ladder was also in use.

"Five casualties were treated by Ambulance on the scene and handed over to paramedics.

"Crews also worked in partnership with the police on the scene."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 06.31hrs to an incident in the Yates area. We sent two double-crew land ambulances, a hazardous area response team and rapid response vehicle.

"Three individuals was conveyed by land ambulances to Southmead Hospital.”

A GoFundMe page has also been set up following the devastation of the blaze.

Kelly and James, according to the person who set up the fundraiser, lived in one of the houses which set fire.

The fundraiser adds: "This morning Kelly nourse and James coner house has set fire and they have lost everything all their stuff all the children’s stuff as some of you may know Kelly is pregnant and is due to have her baby in the next couple of week so I really need everyone’s help to get some/most of their things back and gather some baby stuff together for them the last thing they need to be worrying about right now everyone please try not to message them as they are going through a really hard time right now and would need abit if time to process this all."

The sister of Kelly, who was involved in the blaze, has also set up a fundraiser following the fire.

Dawn Nourse told us Kelly suffered burns to her arm and is being checked over by midwives, because she is currently pregnant.

Dawn's nephew had to also jump out of a window and broke his leg, whilst Kelly's husband, James, is reported to have suffered 40% burns and was rushed to hospital to undergo surgery.

She told us that the fire service have potentially blamed a faulty phone charger after they found one of the mattresses caught fire during the blaze.

The fundraiser added: "Hi, for those who don't know me I'm Dawn, my sister is Kelly Nourse and brother in law James Corner.

"Unfortunately they had a house fire early this morning and they have lost everything. Both Kelly and James have some burns and my nephew Dylan has broken his leg after having to jump out the window. The 2 younger boys Leo and Louie are safe and obviously shaken up. Kelly is heavily pregnant with the baby due in the coming weeks, like I said they have lost everything.

"I am trying to raise money to help them start again as they need everything from underwear, shoes and clothes to furniture for when they manage to find somewhere to live.

"Anything you can do to help would be great and please please share this"
