A Thornbury musical theatre group are dedicating their latest show to a local man - and group member - who was killed in the recent Singapore Airlines turbulence incident.

Geoff Kitchen, who died on board the flight on 21 May, was a member of the Thornbury group for over 35 years.

Geoff was also the production co-ordinator for the group's show 'Journey Back to the Future '.

Debs Spinney, Director, said: "Geoff so enjoyed musical theatre and really wanted Thornbury community to thrive and saw this group as part of that.

"He really wanted us to be within Thornbury as well. Since the Armstrong Hall closed down, we have not performed in Thornbury - so this show will be our first time back in Thornbury.

Debs hopes tonight will also support Geoff's family. She said the show will be a significant moment for them: "They know how much he loved theatre, and they nkow how much he loved this group."

The show 'Journey Back to the Future' is running at Thornbury Methodist Church Hall.
