A taxi driver's been assaulted in Gloucester - being grabbed around the neck and punched by a passenger.
The cab was being driven on Barnwood Road, close to the Walls roundabout at around 9.35pm last night (Monday 19th May).
The passenger in a black Skoda Fabia began to argue with the driver before assaulting him.
The driver was able to pull over and get help from a passing motorist.
A 62 year old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault and non-fatal strangulation.
He's since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
There's now an appeal for witnesses to contact Gloucestershire Police - the horn was sounded repeatedly during the incident, with the vehicle stationary close to some traffic lights.
Officers are especially keen to speak to the driver of a white Citroen DS3, which entered the roundabout around the same time and left towards Corinium Avenue - and the occupants of a black Dacia Sandero that was stopped at the traffic lights alongside the taxi.
