A man from Somerset's been arrested in connection with an incident in Cirencester over the weekend.

Officers were called to Cricklade Street yesterday afternoon to reports a man was approaching women in an aggressive manner.

The 38 year old has since been released on bail.

In a statement, Gloucestershire Police said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses and further victims to come forward following an incident in Cricklade Street, Cirencester yesterday afternoon (Sunday 2 June).

"Police were called to the street at around 2.30pm with a report that a man was approaching women in an aggressive manner and was shouting at them and making threats.

"Officers attended and a 38-year-old man from Somerset was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

"Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or anyone who was shouted at or threatened by the man. Anyone willing to provide a statement to police is asked to complete the following online form and quote incident 215 of 2 June."
