Man and woman injured after suspected shooting in Gloucester
Officers are appealing for witnesses and footage
Police are appealing for information after a firearm was discharged in Gloucester last night (18/1) and a man was injured.
Officers were called to Stanway Road at 9pm with a report that a man, who is aged in his 40s, had sustained a suspected gunshot wound.
He was taken to hospital for treatment and remains there today (Sunday). A woman was also injured during the incident and after receiving treatment at hospital she has since been discharged.
It is understood that three suspects travelled to the location on two motorcycles and that the incident happened outside an address on Stanway Road.
Investigative work has been taking place overnight and a scene guard remains in place while enquiries continue at the location.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the two motorcycles being ridden in convoy in the Coney Hill and Abbeymead areas last night, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist police.
They were all wearing dark-coloured clothing and helmets.
Detective Inspector Paula Hannaford said: "It is really concerning that a firearm has been discharged on our streets and two people have been injured. This level of violent crime will understandably cause concern within our communities, and it will not be tolerated.
"We're doing everything we can to identify those responsible and we’re asking for any witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
"Witness statements have been taken and we are in the process of reviewing CCTV footage, however, we are still keen to hear from anyone with information about those involved.
"There will be an enhanced police presence in the area while our enquiries continue, with extra patrols taking place."
