Second Gloucester water main bursts in as many days
Severn Trent is currently working on the A417 Westgate Street
Another day, another burst water main in Gloucester.
A pipe's split on the A417 Westgate Street this morning (Thursday 15th May), with engineers from Severn Trent Water working on site.
A spokesperson from the supplier said: "We have a team on site making a repair which we're aiming to complete today.
"To keep everyone safe while we complete this repair we are working under two-way traffic lights. We apologise for any inconvenience and will be making this repair and getting everything back to normal as quickly and safely as possible.”
This incident comes just a day after a similar incident in the Matson area of the city.
That's now been fixed, according to Severn Trent, but they have said we're likely to see more of their tankers around locally throughout the coming days, while water's moved around the network.
The supplier also say they're not sure of the cause of either burst at the moment, instead focussing on repair works.
