The world's largest air show returns to Gloucestershire this weekend.
Last year saw the event return following a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 and it was its most successful event ever, welcoming 266 aircraft, 1,500 crew members from across the globe and...TOM CRUISE!
The A-list aviation enthusiast dropped by in 2022 on the US Airforce's 75th birthday.
Organisers announced this year's tickets were selling fast, with Saturday sold out with 45 days still go.
This year's show is set to be another exciting instalment with a variety of aircraft unveiled as participants such as the Red Arrows, historic Jet ME262 which is making a UK air show debut and the Spanish Harrier.
Chief Executive Officer for Royal Air Force Charitable Enterprises, who host RIAT, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that the public continue to support RIAT, especially during the current economic challenges we are all facing.
“This year promises to be yet another fantastic occasion drawing participants from around the world and demonstrating what a massive event RIAT continues to be.”
On the ground there is also a lot to see, especially for youngsters who are curious about aviation, with the event’s Techno Zone.
Within this area industry leaders bring interactive tech exhibits to the show to capture the imagination of the aviators of tomorrow.
All of the proceeds raised by RIAT are donated to the show’s parent charity the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, who have a mission to inspire the next generation of aviators and STEM leaders.
Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Director, Justine Morton added: “Every year we are overwhelmed with the amount of young people who come to the show.
“Ensuring that while they’re here, they’re inspired by what they see is a key aim of the charity and to encourage more young people to come, we offer free entry and travel to the show.
“We are really looking forward to this year’s event and hope to see plenty of people on the airfield next month.”
