This year’s Royal International Air Tattoo is underway with aircraft arriving from around the world to take part in the three-day event at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.
Hundreds of aircraft from all over the world are due into the rural airfield before visitors are welcomed onto the site this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Earlier this year event organisers announced there had been record interest in this year’s show, before subsequently confirming both Friday and Saturday have sold out.
This year's show will celebrate 100 years of the Royal Canadian Air Force, 75 years of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and 50 years of the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
Hot
Weather for the show is set to be hot, with temperatures expected to reach 30 degrees Friday afternoon, before dropping for both Saturday and Sunday.
Chief Executive Officer for Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises, Paul Atherton said:
“We are urging visitors to pack appropriately this weekend, regardless of what day they are joining us.
“Not only is it set to be a hot weekend, the site is vast, so please wear appropriate footwear, bring a refillable water bottle and wear sun protection.”
