Gloucester City Council is asking residents to put forward their views about changing the name of an electoral ward in the city.

Following a motion passed by the council earlier in the year, a consultation is taking place on whether to rename the Matson and Robinswood ward as Matson, Robinswood and White City.

The four week consultation will run from Monday 11 October until Sunday 7 November.

Following the results of the consultation the final decision will be taken by a specially convened meeting of the council.

Jon McGinty, Electoral Registration Officer for Gloucester City Council, said: “We want to hear from residents what their views are on the proposed name change. It’s important that we hear from a wide range of people in our community and in particular those who live in the ward.”

To take part in the consultation online visit the council's website or to receive a paper version contact Democratic Services on 01452 396203.
