Organisers have announced that the Red Arrows and a host of Royal Air Force aircraft will be taking to the skies this summer.

The nine-ship display team will be marking their 60th anniversary at RAF Fairford with a specially designed routine.

The event, which sees 150,000 visitors across three days is taking place from 19 July.

Royal Air Force Typhoon, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and F-35B have also confirmed their attendance.

Paul Atherton, the Chief Executive at RIAT, said: "We are pleased the Red Arrows have confirmed they are coming to RIAT, along with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight which is another big favourite."

The event will be celebrating numerous anniversaries.

Paul Atherton said: "It's 50 years of the F-16, which is an iconic US built fighter, and we're going to have an impressive line up of F-16s this year.

"It's also 100 years since military test flying started in the UK."

Participating aircraft are being unveiled on a weekly basis via social media.
