Cheltenham Town have confirmed that their record EFL goalscorer has left the club for an undisclosed fee.

Striker Alfie May, 30, has signed a two year contract with fellow League One side Charlton Athletic.

May joined The Robins back in January 2020, and went on to score 67 goals in all competitions.

In his time at Cheltenham Town, he played a significant role in the club's League Two 20/21 title winning season.

From here, Alfie May adapted well to League One, scoring 43 goals in the 2 seasons helping the Robins maintain their position in the 3rd tier of English football.

In a statement the club "would like to place on record their sincerest thanks to Alfie and wish him all the very best in the future."
