Gloucestershire Police have begun an investigation following the death of a woman at a property in a Cotswolds village.

Officers were called by the ambulance service at around 11.35am on Sunday 29 November to an address in Great Rissington, near Bourton-on-the-Water.

Due to the investigation being in its early stages, the death of the woman - who's in her 40s - is being treated as unexplained whilst enquiries take place.

A man, also in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and has now been placed on police bail until 21st December.

Residents have been told there will be ongoing police presence over the next few days as officers look to find out what happened and have reassured them there is no wider threat to the public.

Her next of kin are aware and the coroner has also been informed - a post mortem will take place tomorrow (December 1).
