Police investigating death of baby boy in Gloucestershire

Police in Gloucestershire are investigating after a baby boy died a property in Berkeley.

Officers were called to a "medical emergency" on Fishers Road at 10.40am yesterday.

The baby boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are currently investigating the death and the circumstances are being treated as unexplained.

In a statement, Gloucestershire Police said: ""Police were called by the ambulance service shortly after 10.40am yesterday in relation to a medical emergency at an address on Fishers Road in Berkeley.

"Sadly, a young baby boy was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

"Officers are currently investigating the death and the circumstances are being treated as unexplained at this time.

"The baby’s next of kin are aware and the coroner has been informed."
