Police investigating after a woman allegedly assaulted and forced into a car in Gloucester
A 63 year old man who was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm has been released on bail
Police are seeking witnesses after a man allegedly assaulted a woman and forced her into a car in Gloucester.
The incident is reported to have taken place on Russell Street around 10.30pm on Thursday 6th November.
Members of the public reportedly saw a man shout at a woman before demanding she get into a car.
It’s also alleged that he punched her in the face several times.
Officers later identified the woman and conducted a welfare check at her address.
She was found to have sustained facial injuries.
A 63-year-old man from Gloucester was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and later released on bail with conditions not to contact the woman.
Investigations into the reported assault are continuing, and officers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Police are also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage.
